Valtrix / Server setup

Set up your server

Configure where Valtrix sends logs, welcome messages, support tickets, and server protections. Run only the commands for features you want to use.

01

Set Valtrix's role position

Before setting up features, open Server Settings → Roles and move Valtrix above every role it needs to assign or manage. Its role must also be above members it should moderate.

Give Valtrix Manage Roles and only the permissions needed for the features you enable. Keep trusted staff roles above Valtrix; Discord blocks bots from managing equal or higher roles.

02

Choose log channels

Choose private text channels where Valtrix can view the channel, send messages, and embed links.

/setlog channel:#server-logs

This receives server activity such as member joins and leaves, message edits, and deletes. Route moderation cases and ticket transcripts to a separate channel if you prefer:

/modlog channel:#mod-logs

If no moderation log is set, moderation cases and ticket transcripts use the server log channel.

03

Set greetings and autorole

Set a channel and message for new and departing members. You can use {user}, {name}, {server}, and {count} in greetings.

/welcome channel:#welcome message:Welcome {user} to {server}! You are member #{count}.
/goodbye channel:#welcome message:{name} has left {server}.

For a role assigned to every new member, run /autorole role:@Member. Valtrix needs Manage Roles and must be ranked above the selected member role.

04

Configure tickets and suggestions

Post a ticket panel in your support channel, and optionally select a category and staff role:

/ticket panel channel:#support category:Tickets support_role:@Support

Members can open tickets from the panel or with /ticket open. For suggestions, choose a channel with /suggestion setchannel channel:#suggestions.

Ticket transcripts are sent to your moderation log channel, or to your server log if no moderation log is configured.

05

Review moderation and security

Use /security to review protection settings. To enable automatic moderation and raid detection, configure the options that fit your community:

/automod enabled:True block_invites:True block_links:True anti_spam:True
/antiraid enabled:True joins:8 seconds:10

Add blocked words with /filter add. The word filter only applies while AutoMod is enabled. Review current bot permissions with /securitystatus.
